Six heartbreaks, and I won’t make them sound pretty. I could have decided something was wrong with me. Instead I started the inner work, years of it, on myself.

Every ordinary day since

Sharing my whole life with a man, every single day, was a different classroom. Year one showed me who I am inside a relationship, and the healing I still had left, even as a coach.

Four things I’m sure of

one

You become the woman first.

Not the man first. You first, and then love has somewhere to land.

Self love is the method.

How you speak to yourself, what you let in, what you no longer accept. Done daily, it’s the whole reason the rest of this works.

No adjusting. No compromising.

You were told to adjust, and you learned how. I’d rather you choose the right one and never have to.

four

Nothing is wrong with you.

If you learned to earn love, it’s because it worked, for a while. You learned it, which means you can unlearn it.
